Groups at Disney World????/?

Travel Info
Has anyone ever been with a big group, or gone to a family Reunion at Disney World? My family and I are planning some sort of reunion, and we want to do something really good, for all the kids and the adults. We figured Disney World would also be a good idea, becayuse most of them are coming from Britian/France, so it would be cool to take them. Our group would be ranging from ages 3 to 68, with atleast nine people there, and up to about 25. Have anyof you guys had good experiances with these large groups? Or the group rates? Have you done any of the group things, like the night time ride with the pirates and dinner to watch the fireworks? Are these extra things worth it?

Travel Tips
Yes, you would definately be a Grand Gathering. You only get into group rates when you have 10 or more rooms.

For the Grand Gathering Experiances, there are 4 total, though depending on what time of the year you are planning on visiting, they may not all be available. From August through almost the end of November, the Safari Celebration at Animal Kingdom will be down for refurbishment of Tusker House and the International Dinner and Illuminations Dessert reception will be closed due to the Food and Wine Festival. Be sure the check with your Grand Gathering's agent to see the availability of the experiance you want to participate in.

Also, depending on the time of the year, you might be there during one of the special events that take place, such as the Pirate and Princess party, new this year, or the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. They are separately ticketed events, but its nice when you have a group to go into Magic Kingdom and feel like the park is almost empty except for your family.
Others
Disney world does not give discounts for groups as far as I know, but large groups can take advantage of special features such as the back lot tours. When we went last fall there was a large group celebrating their 50 anniversary of high school graduation. Each time we seen them they were together. We ate at least two meals at the same place and they were sitting together each time ( group of about 60)
if there is more than 2 adults and 3 kids, NO! it is not a good idea i have gone with a group of older kids though and once we got there we took pics and went where we wanted and then met up at a certain time l8r or if we didnt want to ride the bus you could go on our own. other that that its not a good idea unless the kids are between 10-12 or 13. teens are not good in places like that in large groups. e-mail me for more at anytime. hope i helped. and also, if you do want to see the fireworks dont do the pirate thing because you can see them from epcot or sometimes magic kindon in disney.
me.
www.disneyworld.com website is the best location for you to start.
1)Availability can be limited for large groups
2)There is a wide variety of things to do so arranging for maps, itineraries ahead of time would be important
3)The golf resorts have large group packages - it's possible some of your group might want to play.
4)Seriously consider arrangements with your cellphone company so you can set up ways to talk with parts of the group. (Nothing is more frustrating than trying to corral 40+people into one event!)
5) Compare the villa style rooms as having a kitchen can make things much easier with that large a group.
6)Call today to at least get some idea of prices/availability/transporta...

No I don't work for Disney. But we'll be taking our 4th family trip to DisneyWorld this year and it definitely pays to plan ahead...

Have fun
I would definitely contact Disney World. What you have is what as known as a "Grand Gathering". (this is a group of 8 or more people). There are several extra special things that are offered to groups like this. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/sea...

try this link.

We went last year, (8 of us) we didn't know about this early enough to get reservations for what we wanted (the Safari dinner) but we got preferred seating for Fantasmic at MGM.

Have a great time!!
Any age will enjoy Disney World. Groups do not matter, there will be something for everyone.
