Has anyone moved down to NC,SC, GA or the Florida coast from The Northeast Coast? |
Travel Info I like to ride my bicycle, and we don't have too many bugs here. Is it a big problem there? Also. how did you like the move the area? Any suggestions where to move areas you recommend? Travel Tips I moved from the CT shoreline area to Seminole County FL and love it. I am an avid rollarblader and don't find too much of a problem with the bugs most of the time. There are two seasons for "love bugs" which is generally in May and Sep but they aren't the biting type bugs, just annoying. I would recommend this area to anyone moving to central florida...it's not as built up as other parts of "Orlando" and about 20minutes to downtown. Others I moved from NY to SC and i hate SC... my unlce moved to SC, i havent visited him but he gave us cool postcards and it looks really nice if you like mountain biking maybe its a nice spot to live. i moved from nyc to nc and back up to new england.... there are some good places. charlotte is a great city Well I have lived on the East Coast, specifically Georgia my whole life, but have had a chance to visit many areas. You aren't gonna find bugs if you move to a coastal area, however the cost of living usually spikes. My uncle lived in Augusta, GA for a while, and loved it there, the cost of living isn't too high, its close enough you can get to the beach pretty easily, the bugs are there but not too bad (just put on sun screen) and its a pretty nice area. Anywhere in north Georgia and anywhere in Tennessee you will have gnats and mosquitos during the summer, anywhere in West NC or SC you will have the same, and Central Florida. Honestly, I love the south, Ive traveled a lot, but you never find nicer people, better cooking, and warmer weather than the south. I guess in a way I moved. When I was young, my family moved first to Augusta, GA. then we moved to Rocky Mount, NC then we ended up in Greenville, MS. Eventually, we came back to Arkansas. I stayed with a Aunt in Gainsville, FL. for summer. I not remember a lot about bugs. The bugs were there, but, everyone of these places was beautiful in it's own way. I guess the Outerbanks of NC and the Lake Okeechobee waterway, FL. had a lot of bugs at night, daytime was OK. One day maybe I can tell when we move West. Went all the way to Los Angels, California. Dang brakes went out in the car, did not stop until we were at Catalina Island. OK, the brakes is a joke, cars not float. But, it was all beautiful that way too. |
