Travel Tips
Pop Century I have stayed at 2 years in a row... Also going again in September... Preferred room is good, closer to dining area, try in the 50' and 60's building near the hippy dippy pool... the rooms are small but since you only sleep there, no big deal. I actually like it there. There is a lot to talk about for tips, my advice, go to www.disney world and look it up for yourself.... I hope you have a wonderful time. It is a magical place.

I stayed at that hotel at least 13 times. I loved it!

Survival tips:

1-Do check in early: even when your room might not be ready after 4:00PM it will help you with the lines. There is a lot of people checking in, mostly in the summer. After that you can just hit a theme park and call later for your room number.

2- Ask if you can do preferred room. It is very close to the main lobby and food court and you will have access to the coke machines, ice and stuff even in the middle of the night.

3- Close your door with all the locks. The housekeeping team sometimes do not realized there still people there and open the door by mistake. They are really nice though

4- bring your camera ready for the hotel. It is an attraction itself. Walk all the areas (50's- 60's, 70's) I bet you never seen a gigantic Mr Potato Head.

5-Do the express check out. it will save you time and you will also be able to do room charges to your hotel key. That's pretty convinient since they can only give you 500 credit line at once. You can go over 500 but you have to call the lobby and they have to make sure is you to start your 500 all over. If you take your credit card and it gets stolen they can charge as much as you have on your credit limit. Also with the express check out you do not have to do a line to check out.

6- Make sure everything works properly in the room. Of the air conditioner does not work right call the lobby inmediatly. Sometimes it takes a little while to get it fix.

7-use the disney transportation. Why waist gas? Also at the end of the night its much better a line to take the bus than the trafic jam to get off the park, and then get lost, and then.. you know!

8-Have BREAKFAST PIZZA! Omg is the best in that food court! it's like a regular pizza but with eggs, bacon and chesse. You will not regret trying it.
I agree with what dianndeltol said!! My only additional comments are:

1) We stayed in the 60's building. While it IS close to the main building, food court, gift shop, etc...it is very noisy. There were people running around and making a lot of noise until 1:00 a.m. and starting at 7:00 a.m. If you have little kids or want to sleep late, this is NOT the building for you. I would recommend the 70's or 80's building if you want it quiet.

2) Buy the souvenir cups in the food court. You get unlimited free refills of all kinds of drinks after the initial purchase of $11.99. The food court is open from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight. So, basically free drinks the entire time you are there. (They are not good for refills at the parks.)

I can't think of anything else. The other poster pretty much covered everything I can think of! Here is a great website for more info on the hotels, parks, etc. www.wdisneyw.co.uk There is a lot of good info on it, especially the message boards.

HAVE FUN!!!
Stayed at Pop Century in May of this year!
Get a room as close to the transportation area and dinning area as possible. The place is huge and very spread out.
I have been to the Pop Century 3 times before....its a great resort! There are 3 pools. (You might wanna bring bathing suits). Its a very big place. The closest Disney Theme park is Animal Kingdom. The food court has some really good food!
There is a large variety to choose from. Get the refillable mugs! You can take 'em home and refill them any time you want. Bring them to the parks so you don't get dehydrated!
We just stayed there two weeks ago and I was very impressed!! We stayed in the 80s building and it was very quiet. We were close to the computer pool, playground, and goofy fountains. My child loved all of these. I would recommend disney transportation but give yourself plenty of time if you have a reservation because they don't always run every 20 minutes like they are suppose to. I would also encourage the dining plan and early checkout so you don't have to worry about any money in the parks (WONDERFUL)!!! Enjoy!!!
The only negative is the walls are really thin! :)
