All Star Sports Resort Question- Disney World?

Travel Info
I'm staying at the All Star Sports. I've never stayed there before. Could someone fill me in on what It's like. Do they have gift shops or something? I like to buy autographbooks so the characters sign it.....also....Tell me some of your favorite rides!! I love to hear them! Tell me which ones are the coolest!

Travel Tips
Here's a link to all you ever wanted to know about your resort! http://allearsnet.com/acc/faq_as.htm... Also, all the DIsney hotels have gift shops. Are you kidding - miss out on a chance to sell merchandise? Never!

You will have no problems finding autograph books. They are everywhere. Very nearly every shop carries them.

My favorite rides are:
Magic Kingdom - Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion
Epcot - Test Track, walking around the World Showcase
Disney Studios - Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster
Animal Kingdom - haven't ridden Everest yet, but I'm sure it will be my fave! Plus the Safaris.

I stayed there about 3 years ago. They do have a gift shop. The food court is great. A tip buy one of the reusable mugs they have at the food court. This will allow you to get refills of fountian drinks free duing your stay. (at least this is how it use to be.) The internet sit allearsnet.com is a great info site for everything Disney-right dow to current menus and pricing for restaurants in the parks and Disney resorts. Make sure to check it out before you go- it will let you know of any attraction closings so you will not be dissappointed.

Get your autogragh books offsite of Disney. They are less expensive and can still have the Disney theme. The best place to find the most characters is at the sorcerer's hat in the middle of MGM park. They are there at schedule times throughout the day so you can plan when to get autograpghs. Also each park has assigned areas to find characters. Magic Kingdom has an area in Mickey's toontown. Look in the big top gift shop, on the far right you will see an area to line up to see characters. The sign above the three lines will show who will be at the end of each line. ( Each line leads to a room, the line is controlled and hey only allow a few in at a time so each guest has enough time for autograghs and tick pix with their favs!) You will not find Mickey here, he will be in his House in toontown.

I like Mickey's Phillharmagic in Magic Kingdom. I hear all the new Nemo shows and rides are awesome as well as the Monster's inc attraction. At MGM, do not miss the shows. Rockin' roller coaster is great. At epcot, Soarn' is good and test track is fun. At Animal Kingdom the safari is the best. Make sure to get there as soon as the park opens. (since you will be at a Disney resort, check for the "magic hour" for Animal Kingdom and go on that day, if possible). When you get in the park , head straight to the Safari. It is located in the far left corner of the park in Africa. I like Kai river rapids also.

Enjoy tyour vac at Disney. I live in Florida and try to go several times a year.
I like the All Star Sports hotel. I took my son when he was 5 and then when he was 12. We stayed in the baseball building when he was 5. It was close to the sorta kiddie pool area. When he was older we stayed at the football one. There was more playing space and a lot of kids his age running around playing with balls etc. I stood on the balcony and could see him. I like this hotel because it's got a pretty good food court. We could have different meals. They had good selections for breakfast and good snack things to get to take back to the room - not just chips etc. but fruit, cookies, crackers and carrots and dip and good sandwiches. They have a good arcade which has some good games and some good family ones as well. 3 Pools are all nice. They have the usual gift stores stuff with the all star motif stuff. My son bought a smaller size basketball and a blow up ball for the pool and was happy as could be. I think they asked what building you wanted and tried to place you the best you could. Good parking. Close enough to park to come back in the afternoon and close enough for those nights you get home late. Rooms were nice. Food court had a large eating area with a wide screen tv which showed Disney movies etc.
I am a die-hard fan of the Magic Kingdom - all the traditional rides. Those are my favorites. Nothing better than a ride around the park on the train. I like Epcot (the countries and the Body ride, the ride thru the plants and the big ball), MGM, (never doing Tower of Terror again) and Animal Kingdom (It's a Bug's Life and the safari ride) but MK - that's for me. The ride in on the monorail is the best. Don't forget the nightly shows. Ask about Tinkerbelle at the castle. Ooo I am so jealous. I wish you a great trip.
This is the only All-Star resort we haven't stayed at yet, but they all have pretty much the same features. Gift shops, restaurants, pools, etc. The Value resorts are the least expensive, but I really like them! I think the themes are fun! You still get the wonderful Disney treatment, the extra magic hours, the transportation benefits, etc.

Fave rides - I love MOST of them! Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean (which has been recently updated to include the movie characters!), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, CINDERELLA'S CAROUSEL. My advice? Regardless of which park you're at, when you get in, GO LEFT and work your way around the entire park. You'll get more done if you don't go running back & forth across the park from one attraction to the other, and the lines will be a little shorter if you start at the left since most people tend to head off to the right by nature! The only exception is Animal Kingdom. Get there as soon as it opens and head straight to Africa for the safari, because most of the animals are more active first thing in the morning, so you'll see more!
