What are the specific beaches you are allowed to bring alcohol to? And how do these beaches compare to others |
Travel Info I am traveling to orlando next week and am interested in taking a day or two to visit the beach, but have heard that many of the beaches it is illegal to bring alchohol to. Would like to know which beaches alcohol is allowed and which ones are nicer than the others. Thank you.... Travel Tips I hope you realize how hot it is here in Florida. Mixing alcohol and heat isn't a good idea. Drink sodas on the beach and save the alcohol for your hotel room. Serious... As for beaches, Daytona is really dirty if you ask me. It's really gone down hill since I remembered it. My husband went to Cocoa Beach and was disappointed too. We live on the gulf side and our nearest beach is Siesta Key, which has pure white sand. It's always rated in the top 10 beaches. If you have the time, take a trip to this beach. It's in Sarasota and that's about 2 hours from Orlando. Others Additional info: All of the beaches on the east coast (Daytona, New Smyrna, and Cocoa) are about the same as far as beach quality. There is driving on the beach at Daytona and NSB. NSB is probably the beach with the most Orlando locas but I prefer Cocoa because no driving. Canaveral National Seashore is the most remote but nudists are not uncommon (don't get excited - most are over 50). The best beaches for quality are on the west coast but they are the most distant. If you have the time I strongly suggest a 3-4 hour drive to Sanibel Island (perhaps the very best beach in Florida that isn't in Miami). Cocoa is my favorite. |
