Travel Info What Beaches near Orlando Florida are you allowed to bring alcohol to? Travel Tips Depends on what you consider as 'alcohol'. if you mean liquor, none of them that I know of, unless it is privately owned (resorts, etc)., and even then, it's unlikely. But, i know beer is commonly found there, but you should still be careful, because most Florida counties have ordinances against public intoxication, and they use them routinely to punish people who leave stuff behind on the beach, if that "stuff" is beer cans. Others Almost all of them, You little drunk. lol This answer may be out dated: All public beaches have a no glass policy Booze is prohibited at Daytona and New Smyrna and every beach I've been to on the west coast Booze - beer cans and plastic bottles of liquor - are allowed at Cocoa Beach, and all of the National Seashores (Canaveral National Seashore / Playalinda Beach being the closest to Orlando) A simple rule of thumb is that if there is no driving on the beach then booze is probably ok. These rules change frequently but signs are usually posted at the parking area. Unless you are an experienced ocean swimmer drinking and swimming is very, very dangerous (experience reduces the risk to very dangerous). People panic and die in the rip currents on a regular basis. If you're going to drink stay out of the water. On a related note: Booze is also allowed at National Park Recreational Areas like Alexander Springs Recreational Park in Astor, FL (about 1 hour from Orlando). Frankly, this is a much better environment for drinking than the beach. Daytona and New Smyrna Beach both have several beach side restaraunts where you can order cocktails. Cocoa is the closest beach to Orlando. Coca and NSB both have vibrant night lifes for local live music - better than Daytona Beach in my opinion. Orlanod native over 40. Cocoa Beach umm, like all of them pretty much...booze is good. :) They all ban alcohol...in the open. Exercise some common sense. Don't draw attention to yourselves by acting like drunken idiots, for this is the reason this law is in effect. Don't keep beer or bottles of booze out in the open, and you'll be fine. |
