Hotels around Disney World?

Travel Info
Having never been there, what are some hotels close to Disney World? Not a Disney resort, I mean. I would like to cut this cost as the value resorts don't have rooms available for the time I want to go and I don't want to pay 400 bucks a night at a Disney resort. Something within decent driving range, and something that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg.

Hi

9801 international dr The peabody orlando 4 star 150 a night 6 miles from disney. Be safe and have a great trip!!
There are many of the big hotel chains around the Disney property. When I went there I usually stayed at Fairfield Inn. The Marriott chains were all around there. There was a free bus service to the parks as well. International Drive as well has many hotels to choose from that may have bus service to the different parks.

You can always look at priceline.com for deep discounts. I used them a couple of times when I went to Orlando and NYC. I did not have a problem.
The best way to vacation is to stay in Daytona Beach and day trip to Disney. It is an hour's drive to your hotel on the beach front but walks along the beach at sunset / by moonlight is worth it. The ocean is free and within walking distance. Everything in Orlando costs money.

If you have to have a short drive, something modern off international drive. I stayed at a few dozen different hotels in the area (before learning to stay in Daytona). They all seemed the same. Pick a chain.
Most hotels around Disney World are higher in price then a Disney Resort. But there are like a Confort Inn and Hapton Inn right outside Animal Kingom.
have you considered doing one of those time share things ? you can stay at their resort for three / four days for a 200.00 dollars and all you have to agree to is to listen to a 90 minute presentation which they will try to sell you a time share condo. you can tell them no. often they give you a ticket or two for disney or a gift certificate to a restaurant such as macaroni grill. if you do not want to deal with a time share, i would suggest going to your library or triple AAA office and ask for a disney guide travel book. they have complete lists of the hotels and ammenities/ratings that they offer and give pricing information. you should be able to stay in Kissimnee florida , just a few miles from disney and many hotels there offer free transportation/shuttles to and from disney. mousesavers.com is a good site to learn about disney.
Try the Hotel Royal Plaza. It is newly renovated, it is on Disney property but not Disney owned, it is beautiful, and the rooms are VERY spacious. They often have incredibly low rates. And even when they don't you can't beat their regular room rates anyway. I promise you will not be disappointed. We've stayed there twice and really enjoyed it. The only two major drawbacks to staying there is the shuttle service to the parks is only at certain times of the day and they leave you further away from the park entrance than if you stayed in a Disney resort. And the second drawback is you will not be able to take advantage of the extended park hours that are available to Disney resort guests only. Aside from that you won't be sorry with this Hotel.
