Disney Magical Express Question...?

Travel Info
Can anyone explain Disney's Magical Express Bus Service to me? (Orlando International Airport - Walt Disney World)

Whoever explains in the most detail will be rewarded with the best answer points!

Travel Tips
It's a bus service that Disney contracts with that picks you up and takes you directly to a Disney resort hotel. It only works with certain airlines (Delta, for one, but not US Air). Your luggage is automatically sent to the hotel as well; you don't go to baggage claim.

Pluses are that it's convenient. I have heard some strong negatives about the timeliness of your luggage delivery - waiting hours after you arrive to get your bags. Some of the online Disney boards (not the Disney-sponsored ones) have lengthy discussions about the service.

Ok. Ive Used there service before. All you do is when you are going to Orlando, You put the tags that they maided to you and put them on your bag. Then you bring your bags to them(sometimes they find your) then you get on the bus. Disney will bring your bags to your room without a tip or anything. You just let them handel them.

The most simple thing you can ever use. Upon Arrival at the airport your baggage will be picked up at the second turnstile. You gather it in stand in line marked for your hotel. With in minutes, if not before you land your bus will be waiting for you and will deliver you to the door of your hotel.
Disney's Magical Express is a complimentary airport transportation and luggage valet service offered to all Walt Disney World resort guests, usually for those who book directly with Disney. Here is how it works:

Guests choose to use this complimentary service prior to thier arrival, usually at the time that the reservation is made. A packet is then mailed to the guest with further information and luggage tags that must be placed on all thier luggage.

On the date of thier departure flight they drop off thier luggage as usual with at thier home airport and that is the last time that their luggage is seen until they arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort guest room.

Once guests arrive at the Orlando International Airport they are greeted by a Disney Cast Member who escorts them directly to the Disney Welcome Center located in the Main Terminal. From there guests are directed to board their designated Disney's Magical Express bus that transports guests directly to thier Disney resort, keep in mind that sometimes there may be multiple stops at other Disney resorts before you arrive at your specific resort.

Once guests arrive at thier resort they can check-in as usual at the Front Desk. Luggage usually arrive to the guest room in about 3 hours after their flight arrival time. During busy travel dates and times the luggage may arrive later.

On the day before the guest's scheduled checkout day an informational letter is mailed to the room with important departure information. If anything is incorrect the guest should contact the listed phone number or the front desk.

On the date of checkout the luggage is collected from the guest room or bell services and once again sent off into cargo until you arrive back at your home airport. Guests board their Disney's Magical Express bus at thier scheduled departure time and are transported back directly to the Orlando International Airport.

Resort Airline Checkin is an additional service for early airline checkin at the resorts offered to all Disney resort guests for guests using select major airlines. The Resort Airline Checkin desk is usually located in the resort lobby and is only open during specific daytime hours.

Hope that helps. Have Fun!
Disney's Magical Express is a transportation service included in the price of a Disney Vacation package. You will be mailed luggage tags to attach to your checked luggage prior to leaving home. When you arrive in Orlando, your bags will be picked up by Magical Express Employees and transported to your resort. After you disembark, follow the signs to the Magical Express counter, where you will check in and give an attendant your transportation vouchers. These will be mailed to you along with your vacation package documents and luggage tags. You will then be directed to a boarding area, which is divided into resorts. Expect to wait longer for the value resorts than you will for the deluxe resorts. We have waited anywhere from 5-25 minutes. You will board a bus which will take you to your resort, likely stopping at other Disney resorts along the way.
Your luggage will be delivered directly to your resort room, and it can take anywhere from one hour to several hours to arrive. If you arrive prior to check-in time or your room being ready, your resort will store your bags for you, and deliver them when your room is ready. You will carry your carry-on items on the bus with you, and the resort will store them for you if you are headed to a park prior to getting into your room. It can take quite a long time to get your bags, so you do have the option of picking them up yourself prior to heading to the Magical Express area. Another option is to pack a change of clothing and whatever else you need in your carry-on bag. Before you depart your resort to return to the airport, you will get a schedule so you know when you need to be at the bus stop. The Magical Express stops are separate from the regular bus stops, and are easily identified. The buses used are comfortable and airconditioned, and the driver generally shows a video. If you prepare yourself for the long wait for your luggage, it is definitely worthwhile to use the transportation. It can be quite expensive to take a cab, as the Disney resorts are not terribly close to the airport, and if you are staying on Disney property, you don't need a rental car which can save a considerable amount of money.
Here is what happens.
When you book your trip they will ask you for flight information so they know when you are coming in and leaving and on what airline. If you book a trip with Disney where you are staying on Disney property (you have to book it through Disney, not another service) about 2 weeks before you leave for your trip they will send you 1 yellow luggage tag per person. Yo put this on your checked luggage. When you get into the Orlando airport you go straight to the Disney welcome center bypassing baggage claim. Disney will then get your luggage for you and take it to your hotel. You are free to check in to your hotel or to go to any of the parks or any place else. The motor coach is air conditioned.

Towards the end of your vacation you will be told of a pick-up time and place. Also if you are traveling on certain airlines, you can check in to your flight when you check out of your hotel!

Here is whjat disney website says:
"With Disney's Magical Express Transportation, bypass the hustle and bustle of baggage claim, and avoid the hassle of having to find transportation and drive, as we transport you from Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort hotel, and pick up and deliver your bags to your room. And when your vacation ends, enjoy our complimentary service back to the airport.

And if you're flying domestically on a designated airline, take advantage of our special Resort Airline Check-In Service, which allows you to receive your return boarding pass and check your luggage from your Disney Resort hotel directly, bypassing airport check-in completely.

Here's how it works:

Reserve Disney's Magical Express Transportation online or by calling the Disney Reservation Center. Then, attach the tags you receive in the mail to your luggage and bring the included vouchers with you to the airport.
Upon landing at Orlando International Airport, skip baggage claim and proceed to the Disney Welcome Center. Disney will collect your luggage and deliver it directly to your Disney Resort hotel room.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride as Disney transports you to your Disney Resort hotel in an air-conditioned motor coach.
As your vacation draws to a close, you'll be notified of the pick-up place and time for your motor coach ride back to the Orlando International Airport. At check out, you may also be eligible to check your luggage and receive your boarding pass at your Disney Resort hotel with our Resort Airline Check-In Service."
