What can you do in Orlando for fun others than the theam parks? |
Travel Info What can you do in Orlando for fun others than the theam parks? Travel Tips I would say visit International Drive. There is tons of shopping and entertainment. There is the Sleuth's Mystery Dinner theater, the Titanic Exhibit, and Skull Kingdom (haunted house). I would also suggest doing Down Town Disney. It is free and it has lots of great shops,a movie theater, Disney Quest, and visit Pleasure Island for some good night clubs. Along the same lines is City Walk at Universal. Parking is free after 6pm and it has a large movie theater and even better clubs than Pleasure Island if that is what you are looking for. City Walk als has some great themed restaurants like Bubba Gump's, NASCAR Cafe, NBA cafe, and Hard Rock. For fine dining they offer Emeril's. Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede and King Henry's Feast for diner theater. If you would like to watch shows check out Cirque Du Solei at Down town Disney or the Blue Man Group at Universal City Walk. There is a lot to do in Orlando besides theme parks just look around at the brochures at the hotel and on the internet. Others Other than theme parks: 1) In Walt Disney World Resort, you can visit Downtown Disney. It's a shopping, dining, and entertaniment district near the Disney parks. Here, you'll find the Cirque Du Soleil show, House of Blues, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Virgin Megastore, Rainforest Cafe, World of Disney store, many nightclubs in Pleasure Island, and much more. You can also visit Disney's Boardwalk- the dining, shopping, and entertainment district at Disney's Boardwalk Inn in the Epcot Resort Area. Here, you'll find Atlantic Dance Club, Flying Fish Cafe, ESPN Club, and much more places to snack, dine, and shop on the boardwalk. 2) At Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando, you'll find a district similar to Downtown Disney just outside of the theme parks. Here, you can dine at the Hard Rock Cafe, NASCAR Cafe, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, (and a lot more). You can also check out the games at NBA City or go to the movie theatres. 3) The Orlando area also has a lot of great water parks to cool off during the summer months. Over at Disney, you'll find the best water parks in the area: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach is a water park themed after a ski resort that was started after a Florida blizzard, but later melted away. Here, you'll find several exciting water slides and water rides for the entire family to enjoy. This park also has Summit Plummit, the tallest water slide in the world. Another Disney water park is Typhoon Lagoon. This park is themed after a tropical island wrecked after a big storm. At this park you will also find many greatly themed water slides and attractions. The most exciting part of this park is Shark Reef, where you can swim with sharks and marine life. Over at Universal, you will find Wet'N'Wild, a water park with many slides and water attractions, but not themed like Disney parks. There are also several other attractions in Orlando such as Ripley's Museum, several outlet malls, and other "roadside attractions," particularly in the International Drive area. Old Town and Midevil Times are a few of those. Well, while Orlando is known well for it's theme parks such as Universal Studios, Seaworld, and Disney, there are many other things one can do here.
