Travel Tips If you want to have a shorter wait for any ride (if you aren't using a FastPass), then look for a single rider line. We often use this and it cuts the wait a great deal. Unless you want to purchase the photo of you and your family or friends together on the ride, try the "Single Rider Line". You get on the ride at the same place, get off at the same place. One might have to wait for the ride to make 2 passes before there is an empty seat, but it beats waiting for over 30 minutes! I don't know about extra magic hours in Animal Kingdom, I have never done them. I have stayed for extra hours in MGM and Magic Kingdom. Here is a tip, go to a park that DOESN'T have extra magic hours in the morning. Believe it or not, it most often will be LESS crowded!! Others I went on it within the first month of it opening (May 2006). We were at Animal Kingdom before it opened, then as soon as they opened the gates we headed right for Expedition Everest, it was about a 25-30 minute wait, but worth it. After that we noticed the line looked longer the rest of the day. I advise get there before the park opens & head straight to that ride! if your staying at a Disney resort take advantage of the extra magic hours in the morning and go as soon as you can get into the park . run as fast as you can as soon as they let you in, to everest, get a fastpass and then get right in the standby line. if you really ran fast there shouldn't be too long a wait and you will get to go on again in the fastpass line! Things may have changed since we were there in November, lines were long every time we rode or even walked by. It is the only thrill ride in Animal Kingdom so I doubt if things have changed much. I have learned to ask every cast member I see for advice. The waiters and other workers visit these rides on their days off and know all the secrets. Right when the park opens rush.. I MEAN RUSH to the gate. if the line is too long then get a fast pass Get at the park first thing in the AM when it opens, ride it and get a fast pass for later! |
