Help! I'm going to DisneyWorld with a 5 y/o and 2 y/o- what are some "can't miss" activities? |
Travel Info Hi, In July, we are taking our 2 kids (5 and 2) to Disney World. We are going for 1 day to the Magic Kingdom. My daughter is princess crazed (5 y/o) and my son is up for anything (2 y/o). Are there any suggestions of what we should do to make the most of our 1 day there? I'm wondering about Cinderella's Royal Table to eat. There is so much info on the internet, it's a little overwhelming. Thank you for your help!!! Travel Tips First, Magic Kingdom is probably the best park for kids this age, so good choice! Second, if you don't already have Advanced Reservations to Cinderella's Royal Table, it is too late to get it. It is practically impossible to get in, unless you happen to catch a cancellation. People start calling for this restaurant 180 days out, so it's very tough. Stuff to do: Magic Kingdom is great for small children! You can probably spend all day in Toontown (Mickey and Minnie's houses, Donald's boat play area) and Fantasyland (Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Carrousel) and still have a blast. You can stop at Town Hall on your way in and ask about character appearances. There are parades that characters appear in, also. I would get a guidebook or use http://www.allearsnet.com and just read through the ride descriptions and make a list of what your kids will enjoy. For some bigger rides that your kids are too small for, you can take advantage of "Child Swap," where one of you waits in line while the other waits with the kids, then you can swap without having to wait in line a second time. Just ask a Cast Member at the ride entrance. Others Any of the hundreds of rides make sure you take them to mickey mouses home its over by the teacup ride , buy autograph book to take along many characters are there for you child to meet and take pictures with and the children will love seeing mickeys home and rides back there are for the little ones ! pretty big area in the eyes of a child !! Every night they have a parade down Main Street in Magic Kingdom with all the different disney characters. if you get there early enough you can sit on the curb to the sidewalk and you will have the best seats! Also sometimes the characters will interact with kids who are sitting close up! Hope you have a great time! have i got the answer for you. i lived in orlando and worked the whole park circuit and been to them all. ok the ages of your children are very young for orlando parks so obviously magic kingdom is a must but really the other parks they are too young for except one and its just outside of kissimmee and its called cypress gardens http://www.cypressgardens.com/ there is the link its in winter haven and my kids loved it! its also a bit cheaper. lastly if you really want to go to one of the other parks then id say animal kingdon but even that they are a bit young. a nice little side stop for young kids is gatorland cheap and they tend to keep the younger kids attention all those parks like seaworld and universal your kids are really just too young still. as far as magic kingdom goes, you can skip the whole tommorowland part cause its for older kids and its a bit of a dissapointment anyway i go there all the time, i may be a teen, but, i think your son would like the buzz lightyear ride in tommorowland alot, also...the stitch ride, probably space mountain too, and there are the cars u drive/ride around on the track...your daughter would probably like the mad teaparty ride...and cinderellas castle...its all a lot of fun....i personnaly like tommorow lands resturants but i m sure cinderellas royal table is cool too...hope this helps!! DOWNTOWN DISNEY IS OPEN TO EVERYONE BY THE WAY..NO COST.. my experience |
