Is Melbourne Florida a Nice Place to Live? |
Travel Info I recently took a 3 hour trip to Melbourne from the west coast of Florida. I drove all along US 192 and Babcock St and also i drove all along US 1 and found that area somewhat abandoned and ghetto. I heard that Melbourne had a really nice area. Which areas in Melbourne Florida is it really nice to live? Travel Tips Hi...you contacted me asking about melbourne and the good parts...Viera is a great place to live and so is the lake washington area of melbourne. Others I live in Melbourne. I also have a house in Palm Bay, just south of Melbourne. Your observation of the RT 1 corridor is right on. Keep in mind that the area you disliked is the oldest part of town. Matter of fact you went right through the hooker neighborhood. Melbourne and Palm Bay have more nice areas than not. There's plenty of good jobs and the prices of homes are declining to adjust for crazy price escalations a few years ago. Rest assured that you can find places to live that are the other extreme of what you've seen. It depends on your budget. Historic downtown Melbourne is quaint and artsy. Antique lovers make this a must see location. Been there...still there sorry im not sure Oh yes i was born there great place and very quiet airport plus near coco beach and also tittusville is a nice area too not to far from the beach I live in Palm Bay (city just south of Melbourne). US 1 in Melbourne is cracktown America. That's where you'll always be able to find a prostitute at any given time of day. University is the section that is really ghetto (it runs from US 1 to Babcock). There are lots of decent sections in Melboure because there are lots of new housing developments going up. The west side of Babcock has nice housing developments. It's pretty much a quiet place to live and it's not too far of a drive from Orlando if you're looking for big shopping or the theme parks. I love it here. Hope you find a nice place. ;) And yes you're right, northern Melbourne (where the zoo is)is called Viera. It's really nice there. |
