Danielle is very right...the Inlet has so much to see of both day and night...

The park area is definitely more restful and non-congested for its seemingly endless lawn at waters edge. Vero Beach is every bit as enhancing as the Inlet and there are several places for boating and fishing and swimming along the Indian River thru Sebastian which are not totally congested with tourists. Seeing the Mannitee and dolphins in the river is a treat you will never forget and can be seen along the river all the way to Melbourne.

A very nice motel to stay at is between Barefoot Bay and Vero...Drifting Sands...and has a swiming pool and restaurant in the complex. Pricing is average or below average and they offer kitchenette rooms as well.

There is a library at Barefoot Bay that allows non-residents use of their online computers also...no charge...!

The cities roll up the sidewalks at five or so but there are many places open late near the beaches and boat houses for entertainment much later into the night...

Water at all the beaches there is most certainly clean and not leaving you with a sticky need for a bath...

Sebastion Inlet is not really just a beach. This is a fishing, surfing, and boating haven. The area has a lot of rocks, fisherman at the beach, and rough water because of the fast moving inlet. There are very big boat coming out of the inlet, and people on the pier as well. This is a very interesting place to people watch 24/7, but I would not pick this as my first choice for having a good quiet beach day. The park does have bathrooms and other accomodations, but it is always packed.

i know people who went to sebastian inlet to go finish and they said the beach was really nice and clean. They also said that area is great to catch some big fish.
