Planning a vacation to Disney World (Florida), advice?

Travel Info
My boyfriend and I (Both 20 years old) are planning to take a 10 day vacation to Disney world in May 2008. We want to stay at the disney all star movie resort and we want to do a 6 day park hopper pass.

I have gone online to the disneworld website and tried to put in the dates that I want to go (To get a quote/general idea of how much money we will need), but those dates do not process..I guess maybe becuase its almost a year away. When is the best time to book this vacation? Should I wait until Jan. of 2008? That would be 5 months away from the vacation. Would that be too late to book the flights/room and everything? Should I try to do it sooner?

Also, I am living in connecticut and will be flying out of bradley airport in Hartford. I am completely terrified of flying (I'm not afraid of heights and not becuase I'm afraid of the plane crashing, but becuase of other reasons)... are there any reccomended airlines? ...
What are the chances that my luggage will be lost?

Travel Tips
My boyfriend and I just finished planning our trip to Disney in Sept.

My advice:
Stay at the Pop Century resort. I know the movie one seems like fun, but it attracts more families with small children. You are going to have more grownups at the pop century. Also it is the newest of the value resorts so it has the biggest and cleanest rooms.

You cannot book those dates yet. Thy are If you call 407-939-7675 they can help you and tell you about when you can book. Book as soon as you can as things fill up fast.

Try AirTran or Southwest as they are most likely the cheapest. Your luggage will probably not get lost. it is rare. Please do understand though that if you use Disney's magical express it can take up to 4 hours for your bag to get delivered to your room, so back what you need for the day in your carry on.

I just finished planning our trip down t all the details,so please e-mail me with ANY questions. We are a 23 year old coupe, so we are probably looking to do similar things as you.

Hi! You and your boyfriend will deffiently have a great time! Well I have had a few troubles trying to get a hotel of the disney website. Well this might sound silly, but you need to book it before Jan 2008. I am almost 100% sure that they would be booked out. I would book in August, Sept, or Oct. If it still does not work out for you call the Disney phone number they list on the site. I would suggest AirTran for your flight. They have really good deals and the people are very nice. I have never lost any luggage with them. Also Delta has very nice flights, but I would suggest AirTran. When you book your hotel either online or on phone you can ask about there shuddle system. What that is is they send a Disney shuddle to the airport and they pick you up and take you straight to your hotel. I have done that only once and it was very nice. Well I hope you have a great trip!
I love the Disney All Star 麓s hotels they are nice clean and cheap. The longer you stay the cheaper it is... The hotel per day could be from 82 dollars to 121 per day it depends if it麓s low season or high season.
The tickets could be 240 up to 250 per adult for 7 to 10 days. It麓s almost the same to buy for 7 or 10 days cause happens the same thing ...if you buy more days you have a bigger discount. Remember that you have Animal Kigdom. Magic Kingdom. Epcot Center, MGM and the water parks.
You have to think that you need 1 day for each park and one extra day to visit the one you like it the best
For instance in Epcot Center you can have dinner in the great restaurant they have or maybe watch the fireworks during the evenig and come back another day.
You also need to go to Universal Studios cause is great and you can visit the hard Rock Cafe and the NBA restaurant.
The trip to Universal for a day with transportation is 70 dollar each.
I recommend you to go dancing to Downtown Disney...with your Park Hopper pass you dont need to pay and you can enter to every single club ...i love BET ...remember to go at 12 or more.
Also at downtown disney you can go to the Cirque Du Soleil wich is a great show and you can buy the tickets in your hotel.
I dont know about airlines cause i always travel in american
good luck
The dates for 2008 are not out yet. The best thing to do would to be to price for like Christmas time of this year. That would be the highest price you are going to find to give you an idea. More than likely prices are going to be going up, so your estimate still may be a little low.

I would book it as soon as the dates become available, when that will be , I don't know. I was hearing that they were coming out on Saturday, but obviously they have not. Now I am hearing first week of July, but who knows when that will happens. Just keep your eyes out and the prices will be online soon after they are released. Calling Disney would probably be the easiest at first since Disney usually has some problems getting things online.

As for air, after you have your dates set in stone, then I would start looking for air. You may not be able to get air right away for your dates, but you can start watching. Once you can price air for your trip, then start watching when the best dates are to book the trip and watch for specials.

On the airlines, I think that most commercial airlines are about the same. A few treat you a little better and tend to be better than others, but for the most part that are a lot alike. For most of them, if you are trying to save money, I would not spend too much more to go with one company over another. Oddly enough, I've had the best experiences with Airtran. They are actually a discounter airline, but they people that work for them are really good, usually they don't have flight changes, never lost my luggage, etc. But, they don't fly out of Connecticut, not sure if you want to travel. One of the worst airlines I've dealt with is American Airlines. Only flown with them a few times and have had flights cancelled and/or delayed or changed every single time. I can't even begin to tell you all the problems I've had in about 4 trips with them, really bad airline, in my opinion, definitely don't plan to fly with them. Delta is usually pretty good, Continental you could try as well.

I fly all the time and have never really been scared flying. There are tons of flights every day, there are occassional problems, but I would not let it scare you to the point where you ruin your trip. A lot of people are scared to fly, most of the time it is the quickest and easiet way to get to your travel destination, so it is worth trying to overcome the fear. If it is really bad, ask your doctor for some medicine to help relax you.

Lost luggage can happen to anyone. It happens every day, bur if you fly with some of the better airlines and bring the important things on the plan with you, you should be fine. Usually they can get your luggage to you pretty quickly, sometimes before you leave the airport, other times within the day. In a few cases, it may take a few days.

Hope this helps!

Don't stress... Disney only posts their info 6 months in advance. So check the website again in November of this year. A great place to check airfare from is http://www.bookingbuddy.com and I always recommend Delta and Southwest Airlines.
