Disney Vacation for 5 ?? |
Travel Info 2 adults and three children, (my brother's family) they will be driving ....where would be a good place for them to stay ? Food costs? Tickets to Disney, Seaworld, and Animal Kingdom? Plz help! Travel Tips Animal Kingdom is part of Disney World. So it sounds like they are doing Disney plus Sea World. I would opt to stay on or near Disney property. On-property, there are the new All Star Music family suites that will sleep 5, or the Riverside Alligator Bayou with a trundle bed, if you can get it. Otherwise, they could get two connecting rooms in the All Star resorts. These are the cheapest hotels on Disney property. Personally, I have gotten in the habit of renting a house from http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com... On-property, you don't even need a car. Off-property, of course you will need one. There are also the Downtown Disney hotels that run buses to Disney, or lots of hotels that are cheaper in the Kissimee area or on International Drive if they don't mind driving. Check out http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.ht... for more information. Food - yes, it's expensive. But you can eat just "counter-service" restaurants (as opposed to "table-service," which are sit-down, full-service restaurants) to save money. If they do want to eat sit-down meals, it is advisable to plan ahead and make reservations due to the popularity of Disney's Dining Plan. Everything gets full. Check out menus and prices here: http://www.allearsnet.com/din/dining.htm... Tickets can be bought at the gate or at a slight discount from http://www.mapleleaftickets.com... Ignore those flashy "Discount tickets" booths, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Tickets info is here: http://allearsnet.com/pl/ticket.htm... All this info is for Disney, I don't enjoy Sea World so I don't keep up with them. I know you can see all their ticket prices/specials on their website with ride and food info, though. Others Here's some ideas: http://www.res99.com/nexres/activities/s... Check the site below. They have great deals on travel and attraction tickets. For tickets click on the "Extras" tab. Good luck! http://AllAccess-Travel.com for all travel to florida info click on the link below http://floridavilarental2.mysite.orange.... there are great vacation rentals here at: http://www.disneyneighbor.com We just returned from Disney a couple of weeks ago so here is what I can tell you. HOTELS: If there are five people staying inside Disney you will be slightly limited in your hotel choices as most accommodate only four per room. We had five and had a choice of two adjoining rooms at the Value Resorts (i.e. Pop Century, etc...) or a single room at Port Orleans Riverside that had a roll out trundle bed. We opted for Port Orleans because our kids are older and the resort is a little more laid back. It had a very nice food court area with lots of selection and lots of pools. I believe the Deluxe Resorts can accommodate five people and I would definitely recommend them if you can swing it. FOOD: Food can be pretty expensive at the parks, but the meals are big and can usually be split between smaller children. Take some snacks with you and carry a water bottle that you can refill at the drinking fountains. As far as the Disney Dining plan goes, unless all 3 kids are young enough to get the kids price, it can be pretty expensive. Also, you must make all your meal reservations months in advance if you want to get into the better restaurants. We usually just ate counter service which was fine, although we did get reservations for a character lunch at the Crystal Palace. Bottom line, if you don't want to be tied down to a breakfast, lunch or dinner reservation schedule I wouldn't use the Dining Plan. TICKETS: Tickets can be purchased in advance or the day you get there. I believe it may be cheaper to get them in advance, but I don't think you save too much. You might want to get the Park Hopper pass with your tickets. The magic hours schedule is broken up between parks. In other words you might have early hours at MK and late hours at Epcot on the same day, so if you want to take advantage of both get the Park Hopper. Lastly, you can use AAA discount if you have it for the hotel and tickets, but there are a limited number of AAA discount rooms that book up fast so make your reservations as soon as possible. Have a great vacation! Since they're going to be driving that's gonna help you a lot in being able to eat at restaurants around the area rather than eating inside Disney property. Disney has Great Restaurants and Food, however they are far more pricey. If they are coming on a budget, I recommend either staying inside Disney property at one of Disney's Value Resorts (All-Star Resorts), or to even save more money, I recommend staying off Disney property yet close enough to the Fun! The best Ticket for Disney would be a Park Hopper, and if they're planning on going to the Water Parks, Pleasure Island, or Disney Quest, I recommend upgrading to the Park Hopper with the Water Fun and More Option. For your Universal Orlando and Sea World, there is a special ticket called the Orlando Flex Ticket which gives you entrance to both Universal Theme Parks plus Sea World, and depending on the ticket it may even allow you to go to Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay and Wet n' Wild.
