Any one used theUniversal Studios Meal Deal Ticket? |
Travel Info I am thinking about spending a couple of days at Universal Studios in November, I see that they offer a meal deal. Does any one know if they would notice if I shared my food with my 3 year old? I just hate to pay all the extra up front if he doesn't decide to eat much that day? And is $20 a good price for a day of food there? Also, are there any good deals on tickets for the Universal theme parks? Or any promo codes for dicounts at any of the theme parks around the area? Travel Tips We went to Universal last December. We purchased the meal deal for one day that we were there, thinking it would be a good deal. That wasn't the case (for us, anyways). Unlike Disney, there didn't seem to be many places to eat. We were in an area where there was a restaurant, but it didn't open for another half-hour. If we kept moving through the park, we would have had to backtrack to come back to the restaurant (it would be the closest one). So we waited the half-hour. The other restaurant (where the plan is valid) was on the other side of the park. You can buy as many meals as you would like, but you would have to go purchase one for your son, wait for him to eat, then you could purchase one for yourself. (This isn't how it is supposed to work, though) You could purchase one meal deal for yourself (or any adults in your party) and then purchasing something smaller for your son. This would definitely be cheaper. (And I don't think anyone would have trouble with you sharing with your son. He is only 3! I think $20 is ok for a day of food, but like I said, I think we would have spent less. We ended up stopping at a restaurant later in the day when we weren't even hungry, simply because we wanted to "get our money's worth". This is what makes me think we could have done without the meal deal. I am not sure if any restaurants on "City Walk" are included. If so, this may be where you could come out ahead financially. We didn't eat at any of those. Others The meal deal is a life saver. Get it. You could not get it and let your 3yr old eat off of you but if you get caught you will lose your meal deal, they tell you that when you get it. My advice is just to get it anyways. If he doesn't eat, you just have to eat your moneys worth. That's what I did when my 4yr old didn't eat much. Yes they do have good deals. They should have it on the universal page. They want you to go there, so just look at it. I was in disney and universal two months ago for vaction and got meal deals at both places. |
