Wondering about the monorail?

Travel Info
I love Disney World, I will be staying in Orlando for 7 days while meeting up with my mom. She refuses to go because she says we go every year and wants to do something different. So I thought I would get my Disney fix by going on the monorail and visiting each resort. I thought it would be fun to explore and maybe have a drink at each one of their lounges. Will I be able to ride the Monorail with no intention of going to any of Disney's theme parks. I know I will have to pay $9.00 for parking. Another cheesy question., I am staying at the West gate resort but the Board Walk Villas pool looks so much more appetizing. I know it's reserved for guest, but how accessible do you think it is. Please don't tell me how tacky this sounds. I know

Travel Tips
You can go to any of the resorts on the monorail line- The Contemporary, Grand Floridian, or Polynesian- and park, enter the resort, and ride the monorail. I would not be so bold as to use a pool, without being a guest, but if you want to go check it out without using it, I don't see a problem.
Others
I'm pretty certain that all of the monorail stations are outside of the parks and you only need a ticket to get into the parks.
You can ride the monorail all you want. If you don't want to pay the parking fee at the gate of the Magic Kingdom tell them you are going to eat at the California Grill at the Contemporary and park there. I don't think you will be able to use the pool at the Board Walk Villas. I know that at most of the higher end resorts ask for your room card. The yacht and beach club even gives you a wrist band for pool use.
The value resorts do not check your room keys to use the amenities.
It's possible but won't that be torture knowing you won't be getting off at any of the stops to go to a park?
Really, the cheapest and most honest way of doing what you want to do is to park at Downtown Disney, catch one of the resort buses (Either GF, Polynesian or Contemporary) and catch the monorail that way.

As for the pool, many of the resorts now have gates on them that require you to use your room key to get in.
You can park at one of the monorail resorts, have breakfast and then catch the monorail and ride it as long as you would like.
As far as using a resort pool but not staying at the resort, I wouldn't suggest it. I have seen people "kicked out" for doing this and from their facial expressions they are extremely embarrassed and honestly, it's a BIG scene normally, not a quiet toned request for you to leave.
it sounds like a good idea, if you need your 'fix'.I believe if you are dining at any of the resorts you can park your car for up to 3 hours for free. dont know about the pool thing though. have fun!
