What time of year is the best time to visit Disney World in Florida? |
Travel Info Im planning a trip for many members of my family all a different ages to Disney World in Orlando, and I wasnt sure when would be the best time of year to visit the parks. Im Virginia, and we have 4 distinct seasons. From what Ive been told, Florida just goes from hot to more hot. Travel Tips I've been to the parks in every season and without a doubt the best time, BY FAR, was mid-late October, as a couple of folks mentioned earlier. But let me explain why. The weather was perfection..low to mid 80's and to my shock No humidity. I didn't know Fl came w/out humidity!!!! And figures it was one trip where I actually packed a Mickey poncho, having spent a small fortune on them in the past, and it was the single only trip I didn't need it--and I was there for almost 2 weeks!!!! The only warning is I've heard there is outside hurricane potential then...but not when I've gone thank goodness. Beyond the weather, the crowds were by far the least and the lines the shortest. The only downside is there are shorter park hours BUT w/out the lines we got so much more done than with longer hours. And there's so much going on then. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a must do! Aside from the fun of running around Disney in a costume and feeling like a kid again (you don't have to, but many did and sure was fun), there were hardly any lines for anything as tkts are limited. And there were lot's of fun special events. Just a blast! Over at Epcot, the Wine and Food Festival is going on, and that is such a treat...literally lol. Also, forget if it's right before or after the Garden festival, but many of the topiaries and other specialties were still up. Also, because it's one of the lighter times, there often are great deals available. We got the best rate I've ever had at a moderate, and given how long a trip it was, I was worried about staying on site where I wanted. But got my fav CBR! So for all those reasons, with weather top of the list, I'd pick end of Oct hands down. Others In my opinion I really like the last week in October, the parks are not too crowded, there are Halloween parties (costs extra) and the weather is warm without being unbearably hot..also Disney often will offer free dining if you stay at one of their resorts October Fall is the best time. Less people at parks and hotels are cheaper. Lived there for 10 years and worked at a hotel in Kissimmee A couple of years ago my family and I went in January (just after New Year's) and it was awesome! The weather was pleasant (mild during the day, windbreaker cool in the evening) and most important .... the lines were short. I really like the parks in January and Feb. The lines are short, the park isn't that crowded. And the tourists that are there are European and very polite. Also, that's usually a dry time of year. Since you're from VA, if we consider it to be "chilly" outside, you'll probably be laughing at us. What you heard was MOSTLY correct....we have warm, hot, and oh my God hot. |
