Why did they close the Nickelodeon Studios tour at Universal Orlando? |
Travel Info Do you remember when you could view the shows like Figure It Out and Double Dare and you could take a tour of the place where they made the slime? Travel Tips Nickelodeon is owned by Viacom. Universal Studios had a licensing agreement with Viacom when it opened its theme park and production facilities in Florida (1990). That licensing agreement has changed over the years. Viacom ceased using the production facilities at Universal Studios Florida in or around 2001. In or around 2005, Universal Studios FL ceased presenting a Nickelodeon-themed audience-participation based show. Basically, Universal closed the tour because there wasn't anything to take a tour of anymore. The Universal-owned soundstage formerly known as "Nickelodeon Studios" has been converted into a theatre space for the Blue Man Group. More information on the nightly Blue Man Group show at Universal Orlando Resort can be found at www.universalorlando.com |
