What's a good veterinarian in the Ottawa area? |
Travel Info I'm looking for a Vet that people have had good experiences with in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. We used to go to Altavista on Bank but i really felt they were more salesmen than anything. It was really expensive and they were trying to sell us on tons of things our dog didn't need. I really want to give our business to a place that doesn't treat their patients like that. Anyone really happy with the Vet they go to? Please tell me about it. Travel Tips We have used the good doctors at the Algonquin Animal Hospital, for years. Most are women, but not all. We find them all to be very friendly and, so, don't stick to just one. We use whichever vet is available, and have therefore cycled through most of them I think. They were very gentle 11 years ago when we had to have our 18 year-old cat put to sleep. Shortly after that we bought a couple of 6 week-old kittens, who visited AAH many times through their first year, and now continue with their annual check ups there. Like most vet clinics today, they'll offer you high-end options, as well as the more down to earth ones (which are the ones we prefer). Just tell them about your views and limits. The clinic is near the corner of Woodroffe and Baseline. The number there is 613 224-5701. Others ask newspaper call no, I do not go to a vet But then my pet do not like vet either vet & pet I recently had a good experience with the Carling Animal Hospital (our rabbit was neutered). Pleasant, attentive staff. Easy process. Good information. Can't say whether they would also try to sell you tons of things, as the experience was pretty limited. Personal experience |
