Canada post question..plz!?

Hi everyone! I am waiting for a parcel which was sent from Japan to ottawa and i really need it by this week. I used the tracking system to check it and the system showed that it has already arrived to Ottawa and have been holding at the sortation plant for 5 days, I wanna ask is it normal to stay that long in the sortation plant??why dont they just delievery it me? would that be any problem like wrong mailing address to cause the holding? Btw, it is an international express mail that were sent out 2 weeks ago from Japan, so it suppose should be on my hand right now..so plz help..what can i do??

Chances are it's actually tied up in Canada Customs - the tracking is a little sketchy when it comes to that sort of thing. Customs can take over a week sometimes.

You could always call Canada Post with the tracking number, they may be able to give you more details or tell you if there is a problem with the shipment.

Often the tracking system is behind the times. There's been many a time I have actually received a parcel before the tracking number has been updated. It could be that the address isn't clear or is incorrect and they are trying to resolve the situation. Or it could still be being held with customs. I'd say your best bet is to call Canada Post directly, otherwise just wait it out.
