Any recommendations for beaches and swimming holes in the Ottawa Valley? |
Travel Info (Or, any warnings as to which ones aren't worth a drive?) Travel Tips The best "closest" location for truly fresh water swimming is Meech Lake. In fact, most of the close fresh water swimming holes seem to be in Quebec (past Buckingham is full of lakes) Of course, if you want to stay in Ontario (or if you live West), there's a great deal of lakes in the Perth/Westport area If you're talking beaches for sunbathing, Mooney's bay is the largest, followed by Brittania and Kitchissippi Lookout. I wouldn't recommend swimming at any of those beaches..but if you do..check this link first.. http://www.ottawa.ca/residents/health/in... enjoy the summer! |
