There is so much to see, although not sure how much of it would be interesting to an adult. We went on a class trip there when I was a kid and we saw so much. The Mint, Laurier House, The Aviation Museum, and you can take a trip across to Hull and see the Museum of Civilizations. Plus there is the glass bottom boat on the Rideau Canal, the Parliament buildings, and lots of other stuff that I remember seeing but can't remember what they were called.

Be sure to stop by Parliament Hill, the market (downtown Ottawa with all the clubs, restaurants and shopping), the war memorial, the museum of civilization, the war museum and the national art gallery. It's easy to cross over to Gatineau Quebec. There you'll find the Gatineau Hills (beautiful scenery) and of course, the Casino du Lac Leamy.
