How do I go from the Ottawa bus terminal to the British High Commission in Ottawa? |
Travel Info Bus numbers and details would be appreciated. Travel Tips It may depend on day and time. Here's Ottawa's trip finder service for local busses. http://www.octranspo.com/intro_trip_plan... Your starting point to input will be 265 Catherine St. Your destination will be 80 Elgin St. (this is right downtown, near Parliament Hill and the War Memorial). The trip planner will ask you for the tday and time of day you plan to travel. The directions that it produces are VERY accurate as to bus# and time the trip will take, including any walking you may have to do. It appears that you will likely be travelling on route 4 to downtown, but check ahead using the trip finder as the schedule may vary to time and day. Edit: Contrary to what the other poster has said, check the link I have provided. That route is not confusing at all and is actually what the transit company reccomends you take. Enjoy Ottawa Others www.nationalrail.co.uk When you get out of the terminal look east. There will be a road right ther. I think it's called Lyon. Turn on Lyon and walk north untill you get to Gladstone. It's about three blocks... the next major road. Go to the bus stop and wait for the 14 St-Laurent. Ask the driver to let you off at the British high commission. It's on Elgin street between Slater and Albert. The bus driver will definatly know where to let you off and there is a stop just on the other side of the street from it. What ever you do, DON"T take the #4 bus. It will be pretty confusing and you will have to do lots of walking. I live in Ottawa and have taken that bus route a bazillion times You can take the No 7 to downtown. Get off at Slater Street and take the No 95, 97, 96, 85 and get off at the Elgin Hotel. Walk one or two blocks north (towards the Parliament Hill) and you will the British High Commission to the left. Look for the British "Union Jack" Flag on top. www.canada411.com www.octranspo.com when you debark from the bus, go down to Bank street and take the 7 or the 1 to Downtown and then stop at the street Albert and go down 2 street near elgin and you will see the british high commission |
