Parking in Ottawa, ON? Weekend.downtown...plz? |
Travel Info Hi all, so we're thinking of visiting ottawa during long weekend...i reserved our hotel at marriott at kent st., in downtown.....does anyone know any place we can park for free....since hotel charges hefty $17/day!!! some people have told me you can park overnight on city lots? any tips/advise? Thanks Travel Tips Weekends you can park anywhere it is ok to park (i.e. not on a yellow sidewalk or red bus zone). Meters are free on weekends as well. And parking after 7pm is open in most of the cityduring the week, some places even earlier. But read the signs, there's a few places that you will have to pay the meter no mater when or where. Visit the museum of nature, it's right next to you, just a few blocks down o'connor, close to the intersection with catherine (at the 407) Others On weekends, parking meters are free. Park in the streeet. I live in Ottawa Fork over the $17.00 per day parking and take the buses to get places in the city. Ottawa has a marvellous transit system and you can purchase daily passes, too! If you are only visiting Ottawa for the long weekend (presumably Labour Day), then it'll be three days' times the daily rate ($17.00x3=$51.00 plus whatever taxes are extra). Since long weekends in any city tend to be chock full of tourists, visitors and even citizens who trickle in from the 'burbs, your problem won't be so much finding free parking as finding any parking at all! |
