Anyone living in Ottawa, Ontario? |
Travel Info I am planning on moving to Ottawa, Ontario. I am only concerned about real estates. Does anyone know what is the average house price for a 2-3 bedroom in Ottawa (regular, fairly new house, maybe between 1-10 years old house) ? The closest to downtown the better.. but even 15-20mins drive from downtown will do... anyways, just so i can have a price range...Thanks a lot ! Travel Tips A newish 2-3 bedroom house in or near downtown isn't a great deal. I'm going to say CDN$350k at the lowest. And, 1-10yrs old isn't easy to find; most of the newer developments downtown are condos, with a few townhouses thrown in. Less for said townhouse -- start at $275k for a 2bdrm. Less for older. And less if you're willing to live in, say, Vanier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/vanier%2c_o... ("one of the last relatively inexpensive Ottawa neighbourhoods with a desirable location next to downtown...") This place http://www.livingin-canada.com/house-pri... lists the average house in the city as $255k. Try http://mls.ca/ http://grapevine.on.ca/ for general house browsing... Others House prices have skyrocketed in the last few years. The only places still somewhat affordable (and use affordable loosely as they are still quite expensive) are in Orleans and Barhaven, which are quite far from downtown. As the other poster said, everything new downtown is condos these days. The rare townhouse you can find will run you about $500K. Real estates in Ottawa is relatively expensive . 3 bedroom house in OTTAWA around $ 275000.00 |
