What is Canada like ? |
Travel Info What is Canada like ? Travel Tips Big and cold. Others Every where else eh? GOOD QUESTION!!!!!!!!!! First of all, only 10% of the population can speak french. The rest really don't want to! For those of you who don't know, igloos are used as a temporary shelter in the Arctic by the natives. Yes it gets cold. It also gets hot. My wife and I were married near the town of Kininistino Saskatchewan on Aug 1 1998 and the temp was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The big cities (Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa...Not Quebec) are very similar to any US big city. Quebec is the french side of Canada. There is a very big rift between English and french speaking people in Canada. The rift can even be called violent at times. Close to civil war. Canada has a unified military. That means that there is no separate branches. Air Force, Navy, and ARMY are one entity. Canadians are mostly a kind honest people. They think before they act. If a cause is just, they are willing to put their lives on the line. Canada and the United States actually SHARE defense of North America. NORAD is a joint US/Canadian venture. ICBMs from Eurasia will cross the Arctic to get to the US and Canada is vital in the identification of a missile attack. The US and Canada have their arguments, and neighbors do, but in the end, The best friend the US has is Canada., I'm not US or Canadain. I'm North American.......Figure it out. very nice place but no marijuana here we are all church going folks It's like the USA but much better ;) Its like Canada |
