When flying.. do you put the small lock to lock your baggages? |
Travel Info I meant that small lock is so easy to open.. do you still bother to put it there when you are travelling? Travel Tips no. the TSA agents will cut it off so they can search your luggage. my best friend is a baggage handler for Alaska Airlines, and he has seen several locks.. small.. big.. and very expensive... get cut off. Others yes always never but your question will make me to change my mind sure, it will take someone longer to open something with a lock on it then something without a lock. why make it easy for them. we used zip tags. you know the white plastic ones you can buy at the hardware store. We pulled the zippers together and threaded the zip tags as tight as possible. it worked. You should put a lock, but it is forbidden in the US and EU. When you are coming from a country that doesn't care about this, then you should put a lock on. Make sure you always have your keys with you, because in case if they ask you to open the luggage, then what are you going to do if you don't have the keys? Many times your luggage will be hand checked by the TSA. TSA has keys for most small luggage locks, but you will be asked to stand in another line to have the baggage checked if you have a lock on your bag. In the long run, it is not worth it. The small luggage locks take no time to break and anyone who wants to get into your luggage will. Your best bet is to not put anything of value in your luggage. |
