Is there anything stopping me from bringing a parachute onto a plane as hand luggage? |
Travel Info I don't like flying. Although I have been told by many nay-sayers that trying to escape a rapidly descending commercial airliner would be fruitless I would still like the option. Is there anything stopping me from bringing a parachute on board into the passenger cabin- issues such as weight, international law etc....? Travel Tips Sorry, that option was cancelled. Ever hear of D B Cooper? Others Well yes! Parachutes are specially packed so they will open correctly on demand. How many times do you think you'll be asked to open the pack for custom officials?? Go and seek professional help about your fear of flying. yes common sense.its no good in your luggage-strap it to your back this sis such a good idea.i am scared of flyin and i hav neva flown in ma life. Iwould pack a parachute if i was flying somewhere Definately Dont quote me , but i think it's something to do with you might sabatage the plane by opening the door to jump out , !! You can carry a parachute on a plane...just arrive early, (time to repack) in case they unpack your rig for inspection. EDIT: Learn to pack your rig first. Don't carry any other items in bag with chute. (big chance of them unpacking your rig) It will be a violent departure...Wearing a helmet? If it's imminent you're crashing..go for overwing escape (may hit fin)...otherwise you'll get shredded to bits. Best jump from 13,000 ft. Never open and reclose a packed rig without removing the pilot chute from its pouch and checking the routing of the bridle. (Take a class) I have one for sale, it was only used once but it has a small stain. |
