I don't plan on going out of the country anytime soon but, I wanna get a passport anyway. What is the process? |

Others Hi, I do not believe that you have to have travel documents to secure a passport however you will have to contact your closest passport agency to find out for sure. Before, all you needed was ID. travel.state.gov/passport When I got my passport I got a certified copy of my birth certificate from the county I was born in, went and had passport photos taken at AAA (it's cheap for members), and went to the main post office. The passport department is in the post office in most larger cities. I filled out the form, showed my drivers license and birth certificate, gave them the photos and about $80.
