A math question please. i have 40 boxes measuring 16"x20"x9". i need to rent a van to transport these and was |
Travel Info wondering how much volume that is. thank you. Travel Tips Like the previous response said, you need 115,200 cubic inches of space, but I'm sure that information does not help you at all. That volume translates into 67 cubic feet of volume, which translates into roughly 3ft x 4ft X 6ft. So what you need is a van that has at least a 6ft bed, since most vans/trucks have at least a 4ft wide bed, and you can easily stack boxes 3ft high. Others The volume of a single box will be length of the box times the width of the box times the height of the box, so in this case: Volume of the a single box = 16" * 20" * 9" = 2880 inches cubed So the volume you will need to transport 40 boxes would be 40 times the volume of a single box. So: Volume of 40 Boxes = 40 * 2880 = 115200 inches cubed So you would need a van with at least 115200 inches cubed. |
