Could any1 tell me what your allowed to take on as cabbin baggage flying to the US from UK these days? thanx? |

Flying in 3 weeks advice would be much appreciated xx Travel Tips From the British Airways site, they write: UK Department for Transport restrictions relating to size and number of cabin bags: Passengers must comply with UK Department for Transport restrictions, which are: Customers travelling from the rest of the world and ending their journey in the UK: ONE cabin bag, no bigger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (approximately 22 inches x 17.5 inches x 9.85 inches). plus one laptop or briefcase Please Note. You must be able to lift your bag unaided into the aircraft overhead locker. However, our cabin crew will assist customers with additional needs. Please also note. A handbag (purse) does count as one piece of hand baggage. Liquids must be carried in individual containers, not exceeding 100 ml. If your cabin bag exceeds the new dimensions or contains prohibited items, you will be asked to repack it or check it into the hold. This may cause you an unnecessary delay. ** Please note: That is for travel TO the UK. When you are returning FROM the UK, as written right now, the rules say you get ONE carry-on. No personal things like a purse (i.e. your purse would have to fit inside your carry-on). So pack remembering you'll have to redistribute things on the way back. Carry a prescription for your inhaler and any other prescription medications you want . Any liquids, like eye drops or lotions etc, must be in containers less than 3 oz, and must fit into a single quart-size ziplock plastic bag or container. Others Depends on the airline. Check their website for up-to-date guidelines. phone the airline that you have booked with or your local airport No vanity case if it holds anything sharp. I think you're only allowed one bag as carry on, no lighters no matches. I advise you to go to the airline compnaies website to find out or call them. The last thing you want is to show up at the airport with something of sentimental value and have it confiscated, it happened to me before with a zippo lighter i was given as a gift, they won't ask questions they just take it there and then. You should look at the US side sites such as the TSA: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p... for their restrictions, they still seem tighter than ours. Check with your airline site as well, they'll tell you their specific restrictions, which can vary. All liquids, including make up, will have to go in a clear plastic bag from your hand luggage, with a capacity restriction, so make sure you put as much as possible in your stored luggage. the only way to check is to give your airline a call, dont call a diffrent airlins as they may have diffrent rules and regulations...but one thing for sure, No sharp objects,sprays,jells no food or drink either..all medical stuff (needles) you can cary but you will need proof from the doctors that you need this with you at all times.. good luck.. |
