Is it a problem that i'm smiling in my passport photo? |
Travel Info i didnt really know that you're not really supposed to smile? (US?) They issued me a passport and I'm full on smiling, with all my teeth.. why didnt the photographer say anything? boo Travel Tips I have had passport and visa photos take several times, and I have asked the photographers that very same question: to smile or not to smile. I was told that it doesn't matter. You can smile if you want but you don't have to. Most people don't. I smiled, but not a really big happy smile. Mostly because I don't like getting pictures taken. But it isn't against some rule. You may not see many passport photos with smiling people, but your picture should be just fine. Others yeah your not supposed to smile. thats weird they didnt say anything. If the State Department issued you a passport, it is not a problem. The photographer at the post office told me to smile, so I think that the rule about not smiling is no longer in use. Not all photographers know about the guidelines (although they were issued in early 2005!). Since they issued the passport, you're OK. They may look at you longer, but no problems. Could be worse. Suppose the smile was the only thing you were wearing for the photograph and officialdom noticed. Hi Yes its completely allrite to smile in Passport Photograph. You cant hide your face with anything and even you hair needs to be pulled back so your face expression can be seen and checked. Usually the US Passport authorieties only object to Specs, or any make up but i dont think they ever object to a smilin photo. so dont worry and keep on smiling hope this will help take care Did the passport office actually issue the final passport? I've read and heard that they are really strict about the picture being perfect. and one of the requirements is that you must not be smiling. My question is did you get your photo done at a professional passport photo place? if so they should have told you, but if it was a drugstore or random photo place, you really can't blame them, it's not their job. |
