What tips do you have for a high school traveler going to europe for 20 days? |
Travel Info I am visiting Switzerland, Austria, France, and Italy. Travel Tips Americans are welcome all over Europe. They are seen as some of the best tippers and as such you would get great service in restaurants. It's nice to speak some of the local language but English is spoken by almost everyone under the age of 40, French and German are the two other big languages (if you have a grasp of Spanish you might understand some french) Europe has some large cities and are a lot safer than most American cities, but don't take that for granted. Pickpockets are the largest problem you will come across. Act as you would at home but respect local customs and you'll have a great time. The American accent will come in handy if you fancy finding the local talent and as long as you are polite you'll make many friends. Others Don't drink the water... Keep your eyes to yourself. Don't carry a lot of cash or anything else for that matter. Overall, have a ball. Go with 1 or 2 other people. Stay in hostels that provide breakfast. Watch for pick-pockets. Bring a small phrase book. Travel light, it's much easier. enjoy urself and try and do everything that u can b/c its a pnce in a life time experience! have fun! If you're from the U.S.A.? Tell anyone that asks over there that you're from Canada! The current administration has even our allies not liking us very much! Be Carefull! ;-)= dont drink alot because here in germany theres no age limit (or basically they dont inforce one) & i see little kids drinking all the time..So stay away..It'll just give u a bad habit to bring back with you |
