Can you get on a plane with a colostomy bag???

Travel Info
Is there any special clearance you need to get? Who would I contact to find out?

Travel Tips
Ask for a Travel Certificate. This is a certificate printed in many languages that explains that you are carrying medical supplies and that you must have them with you at all times. Taking this to your GP and getting it signed by him or her will help speed your journey through the Customs departments in any Country.

If you are taking medication with you either prescribed or otherwise it is a good idea getting a letter from your doctor explaining what they are for.

In the end I would simply contact your travel agency or the airport to determine if you should have any special clearance or if the above suggestions would be enough.

That's really disgusting. Don't tell anyone.
It's possible, but I wouldn't recommend it! Hey-Oh!
The colostomy bag is a part of you, it's ATTACHED to you, so YES you can go onto the plane with it.

Don't tell the plane company that you have a colostomy (your medical info is none of their business) Think about the HIPPA rules, hun! HIPPA rules are the rules that keep our medical information PRIVATE! :-)

A colostomy bag will not "ding" at the metal detectors, so they won't even know you have it on your body.

You are not a terrorist. You are not a threat to anyone. lol

Cheers
Wow, that remark by Leanard was disgusting and small minded.... I would guess you could. Maybe be sure it's empty now that they have the 3 oz max liquid rule or whatever. I would call the actual airline you are traveling through and speak with them. Speak with somebody in their customer relations, that's who we go through for Unaccompanied Minors, they are typically very helpful.
I can't imagine there'd be a problem with that, from the airline's standpoint, since those who have them know how to use and manage them. Check with your doctor, though, to see if changes in altitude would cause you problems. Airliners are generally pressurized at 8,000 feet.
To avoid _any_ last minute glitches, ask your dad's doctor for a note to take with you.

Have a great time!
