Do i have to pay any taxes on nonperishable food items that i bring into usa from another country?? |
Travel Info im planning on bringing chocolates, coffee, chips, and things like that from brazil into usa,and i was wondering if they will charge me any taxes for doing that, can anyone help me find out? Travel Tips Hmm.. sounds interesting ^_^ what kind of chips? lol xP Hmm.. no tax if its not to resell. so yeah.. i don't see any problems. You just can't bring like fresh fruits, fish, meat, and other foods like that.. and hmm.. no water either lol Others Go to U.S. Customs at www.firstgov.gov Are you going be using the items for personal consumption or are you going to resell the items? If it's for personal consumption, then no tax. Resale? Then yes, taxed. Hope that helps..... You can bring back up to $800 in purchases without paying any tax. There are higher and lower rates for some countries and circumstances. You can't bring back fresh meat or vegetables but I see not problem with what you have listed. No tax on those items, you have listedas long as they are for personal consumption. You cannot import meats, fish, fruit, vegetables and plants. |
