What to take on a trip? |
Travel Info It lasts 9 days, how much clothes should I take with me? We'll be able to do laundry about halfway through the trip. Also, what other basic items should I take? I always forget at least one thing Travel Tips Lesia gave good advice. It is good to travel light and since you can do laundry , you need not take with you 9 sets of clothing but about 5 sets (half the amount?) and underwear you should have more, like she said. If you mix and match, you will have more than enough clothing. Carry separates: blouses, T-shirts, pants. I would add, besides toiletries, take along some medication in case you need them like Tylenol , just in case. To prevent yourself from forgetting, you could make a list (don't wait till the last minute to plan). Make a list of what you wish to take with you right down to every detail, like even accessories. Then when you start packing, check them off as you load them into your bags/ suitcases. Source(s): I have been doing this for years. It is easy when you pack only for yourself but when you have a family , you have to plan for the kids and what they need. Without this list-making method, it would be easy to forget something. Other Travel Tips So that you're luggage is not to full I would suggest at least 4 bottom's with enough tops to mix and match, one of each that would match all the outfit's sneakers, sandals or flip-flops, and dress shoes if you're planning a nite out. at least 18 pairs of underwear (2 a day you never know what can happen) Don't forget toiletries, a wash and dry towel and your make up kit. it all depends on where you're going but generally i would bring at least 2 prs of jeans, 3 other kinds of bottoms, 12 shirts that would match the bottoms, 5 sets of underwear (just wash them yourself everynight), 1 dress (preferably one that doesn't wrinkle too much), 1 to 2 jackets, 1 shawl (pashmina), 2 sets pajamas, a windbreaker, sunblock, make up, toiletries, medicine, shades, a hat, flip flops, walking shoes, and sandals (one you can wear with the dress or with your jeans). all hotels have laundry service so that shouldn't be a problem unless you're going on a tour which means you'll be in a different one every night but you're always given some free time so finding a laudromat shouldn't be a problem. If you want to go all out then try the following. wardrobe that could be mixed / matched casual to dressy 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of casual/dressy pant, 1 shorts, 1 short sleeve top, 1 dress, 1 jacket, 3 underwear. Pack clothing that do not need ironing. a pair of comfortable shoes / slippers / dressy shoes sometimes I'll bring the travel packets of woolite because might not have time (late at night); access (hours of operations) to a laundromat or if you want to just wash a few things. You could purchase the packets from stores. money / travelers checks / major credit cards just in case cell phone that allows roaming a copy list of people you need to contact just in case give a copy of your itinerary / trip to someone back home toothbrush / toothpaste / floss / toiletries body soap / shampoo / conditioner / all in one...The hotels provides them, but usually they are not too good. lotion nail clippers b/c it's not fun cutting nails w/ a pair of scissors band aids /diarrhea / nausea / motion sickness / pain reliever meds your own Rx meds bring feminine products camera / film batteries for whatever needs them pen / paper in case you need to write directions or info if you plan on doing a lot of shopping or bringing back a lot of things back, you might want to bring an extra suitcase or pack things that you will probably throw away by the time you return back home, including clothing. always make sure you know what could be in your carry-on & if there's any restrictions. These are pretty much my essentials, maybe you're not as extreme. Hopefully, it helps. Have a fun and safe trip. |
