Travel Info What rucksack is best for a 5 day trek? Am carrying about 12kilos (bivvy, sleeping bag etc..)? Travel Tips you want a pack that has a solid belt strap, so you can put some of that weight on your hips, instead of all through your shoulders and back. Most people today use an internal frame, to make it snuger against your body, but I have always prefered external frames, for the ability to tie more things on. go to the store, and find one you lke really. anything over 4000 cubic inches of storage and you aren't prioritizing your packing. Others maybe a 100 litre bag something around the 45-60 litre mark will be fine depending on how bulky your cooking stuff is and how much extra kit you have. or if you can fasten the tent to the outside, you want room inside for everything else . Stuff on the outside just catching on things, gets wet and looks messy!! Cut down on those no essentials and go light weight. Its summer to think sensible, whilst catering for the odd shower. Rucksack, most makes are fine, pick one that suits you back length, most come in 3 sizes to suit a range of heights, and some have adjustable shoulder strap height too. A good fit is the important thing. Find one that has a couple of pockets in the lid I would go for one with 4 wheels, a steering wheel, air conditioning and central locking. |
