How many ounces of liquids are you allowed to take in a carry-on bag? |

Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller. All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items. Others no more than 3ounces. 100 ml (3.4 oz)is alowed in your carry-on. The amount of liquid is irrelevent, it is the total capacity of the container that they measure. 3 ounces, i believe. good question, im not sure whether or not 1/2 of 2 ounces is considered 2, but im guessing that they dont want to have to bother measuring each liquid so they would probably just go by the container. as many 2-3oz. size containers as you can fit in a quart size zip top bag. so, yeah if it's half full it still counts as 2oz. because it's taking up that much space in the bag. also, you have to either bring your own zip lock bag or from the airline when you check in at the airport. |
