Travel Info I'm flying from Phoenix to Las Vegas, NV the second week in September, and again from Phoenix to L.A. the third week in September. That's not important, but will I be able to take my blow dryer, and hair straightener in my carryon? I'm just going to buy my personal products when I get to my destination, to avoid the hassles at the security check point. But will I be able to bring my blow dryer and hair straightener in my carryon? Thanks. Travel Tips This just reminded me of something that happened to us when we came back from a trip overseas. We brought a poppyseed grinder (for baking) back in our carryon luggage. We packed it and didn't think twice about it. Then all of a sudden, when we were going through security, they pulled us aside and told us to open our luggage because they found a "suspicious object". We were able to look on the x-ray screen and sure enough, the poppyseed grinder looked exactly like a gun (looked more like some kind of space gun from science fiction movies). We showed them what it was, and we were ok, but since then I've been a bit leery of putting "gun -like objects", like hairdryers in my carry-on. Have a great trip. Others Yes, you can pack a hair dryer & curling iron in your carry on luggage. You cannot pack large amounts of liquids however. You can only bring 3 ounce size bottles and they must be in a 1 quart ziploc bag. Visit http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm... for more details. |
