What to do? |
Travel Info I'm going to be going to Australia and doing a homestay, my coaches recomend bringing something for the family.. there is one problem though.. i don't know if they have kids or not and have no idea what to bring!?!?!??! if you could leave me some realistic answers and no smart remarks that would be great.. thank you Travel Tips Take items specific to your home. Logo items from local schools/teams are a good idea. Others I would suggest you google thier hometown and look for local traditions. There is always a decent meaningfull gift you can bring that is more from the heart than the wallet. There is nothing wrong with being over-prepared. But, there is a big difference in what you would take a three year old boy and a sixteen year old girl. You cannot prepare for every possibility. Try to get all the information you can on the family. If that is not possible, just bring a gift for the adults and when you discover the family situation, then get something for any children present on an outing. The parents will be able to advise you as to what is right. As for the gift for the parents, make it something that means something to you and is significant of your visit. They will appreciate that you were thinking of them and its importance to you will raise its importance to them so that when you are gone, whenever they look at it they will remember you. Bring your favorite thing or something important about your culture and then when you brign it you can explain why you like it....maybe you can introduce some of your culture as you expierience yours... |
