How long do i have to have remaining on my passport before i can travel?

my son has until october 07 on his, is this sufficient to travel late august/begining of sept?

I'm not 100% but i think you have to have 3mnths remaining from the date you Return.

He can have the passport renewed before October.
it varies but most of the time it is 6 months, i'd get it renewed quickly. I just got mine back and it only took a couple of weeks. Also get it renewed now and save money coz the price is going up soon.
