Fanny pack (bum bag) counts as carry-on baggage? |
Travel Info I know you are only allowed 2 pieces of carry-on (hand) baggage. I want to know if I have a fanny pack (bum bag), will that count towards that allowance? Will I be required to remove it for take off and landings? Travel Tips your fanny pack will be considered 1 piece of carry on and yes u will have to let it be xrayed, and taken off, just like your shoes and coat when u go thru security Others I know a purse does not count as a carry on so neither should your fanny pack, but if you want to be SURE call the airline. The official word is yes, it is a carry on. Purses are considered carry ons, so I'm sure that a fanny pack is. The unofficial word is that it depends on the check in people. I've been able to get on with my purse and 2 carry ons, and I've also been stopped and told that that counts as 3 carry ons. I would try to stuff into one of my other carry ons and take it out once I'm on the plane. yes - i believe so. I would guess that it'd be considered a carry-on bag. In that case, and to get around the 2 bag rule, it might be wise to pack it in another carry-on bag during the flight if more room is needed. It would probably be considered the same as a small hand bag or purse. I'm guessing the stewardesses would require you to take it off because it might interfere with seat belts/ safety precautions... and besides... it can't be that comfortable sitting with it on anyways. Check the airport/ airline/ TSA websites to see luggage/ bag specifications and their classifications of bags. I hope this helps. My... flying is a hassle... Purses/fanny packs are counted as a carry on. I see no reason you would be required to take it off for takeoff or landing. |
