PASSPORT: WHAT DOES THE APPOINTMENT at the REGOINAL passport angeny DO for somebody? |
Travel Info they will not let me speak to any representative until 14 days until the trip to italy,so i do not know what to except, will they let me have my passport and what exaclty happens there because i do not want to schedule an appontment and nothing happens, PLEASE help thanks!!!!i want from experience.... Travel Tips Normally, you can apply for the passport at any post office and it takes about 8-15 weeks (now) to get it. Somebody prefers to do at the Passport Agency with expedite fees. The catch is you have to travel within 14 days to have your passport proccessed; travel itinerary is required to prove. So, you can come to any travel agency and ask for an itinerary, saying that you will have to travel within 14 days... Once you get the itinerary, call 1877-487-2778 and make appts. with them. You can choose the appt. in the morning or in the afternoon... Be patient as the lines are always busy - redial, redial... until you get throu it... Good luck! Source(s): own experience Other Travel Tips I renewed my passport earlier this year. Although I paid for the expedited service I wasn't at all sure it would arrive in time. I ordered it about 6 weeks before my trip! At one point I thought I might have to go to the regional office. I called the 800 number for the passport service and was told that if my passport hadn't arrived THREE days before my trip, I could make an appointment at the regional office. It seems the appointments were really an all day affair. You would join a cue of people trying to get their passports. There were reports of people spending the entire day at the office - though usually they did leave with a passport. I didn't have to do that, my passport arrived about 2 weeks before my trip.
