These days do you need a pasport to travel within the US? |
Travel Info I will be travling to miami on the 28th of June. Travel Tips No within the US. A legal form of ID is required, though, to board a plane. If you are going from somewhere outside of the US into the US and then to Miami you'll need a passport the first time you go in, but I don't htink that is your case.If you are traveling within US then you do not need a passport. If you are flying then you would need a picture id, which could be your Drivers License or a State Id. If you are travelling by road then of course you need a drivers license all the time. If you are a foreigner and traveling within US from one city to another then you would need a passport. Hope this helps. no, not unless you are a non-US citizen who is flying within the US. I must answer with a question. From where are you traveling? If you are coming from outside the US, you will need a passport from your home country. You would probably need it to return home. You will not need a passport when you register at a hotel. The chances are, you will never need to show it until you are returning home. You will need identification, a credit card, and a driver's license if you rent a car. While you are within the US, you will not need a passport to travel within the US or to travel by auto or foot to towns on the border. You will need identification when you return to the US from the border towns and your passport is the best ID you can carry. You can travel to Key West without ID. (An old Joke, ask about the Conch Republic) Your airline can provide much more info and also advise on their boarding requirements. Good luch and enjoy Miami. It is a great town. |
