How many packs of cigarettes can be brought on a in country plane trip? |
Travel Info I'm visiting Michigan from Oregon and I want to bring a carton with me because it costs more to buy them in MI . It would be in my checked luggage. Is it allowed? Travel Tips Yes, you will not have to declare this. Especially if it is one carton. When traveling abroad you go through customs and you are exempt on 200 cigarettes that are duty free. Also Michigan would check your luggage. They are only going to check for bombs or banned items. They don't care about taxed cigarettes unless you had the whole suitcase filled. Others i would think so. its not like you would be smoking on the plane 200 cigarettes( "duty/tax free")---most packs contain 20 (--but, I've encountered some cig packs with 10 & 25 cigarettes per pack in Europe)---so , the CORRECT "how many packs" answer depends upon how many cigs are packaged in each pack. You can take as many cigarettes as you want for personal consumption. You can pack it in your checked luggage. |
