Can I bring fragile items in my carry-on?

Items like some ceramic mugs, plates, and figurines? I bought souvenirs but I don麓t want them to break in my checked baggage and I don麓t have room for them in either of my 2 my checked baggage and I don麓t have any money left to have them shipped home. I am travelling from Madrid-Barajas airport to NJ-Newark. please help!

do you have room for them in your carryon? if so, no reason not to take.

Of course... take them... as long as the bag can fit in the overhead or under the seat in front of you, you are fine!
