Some airlines though, will work with you in these situations. You can try and go through lost baggage and file a claim if you already haven't done so and it is possible that the airline may compensate you for some and then Insurance would maybe pick up the rest. I don't know the circumstances surrounding this to know. This is one of the MANY reasons people really should consider travel insurance.
