What is it like to pack up and move to a new city you know nothing about? |
Travel Info i will be moving to a new city in 3 months . does anyone have any advise about what is like and things that i should handle first when i arrive? Travel Tips It's so refreshing. At first thought it's overwhelming but once you do it and get settled a little bit it's well worth it. The first thing is to make sure you can make it financially and then make your move. Once you get there and move into your new home do a meet and greet with neighbors so you know what kind of people you live around. If you're moving because of issues you in your life you wish to leave behind then be sure that the second you get in your car to leave it all stays there. That way when you do get to your new city you can completely start fresh not partly. Just remember to drop the baggage. If you're moving just because then have no fears and just plunge into whatever the new city throws at you. Others start slow. find your niche, and you'll do fine. I just moved to Nevada from my home town Spokane WA and WOW what I difference and scary for the most part6 but soon I visited the Mines and the parks and etc and found that a small town in the desert was that bad lots of fun!! what city are you moving to? just get settled in, and find some activites that you like to do and you will meet people, and have fun exploring! just be careful when dating guys in a strange city. find a girlfriend first so you always have someone backing you up. ho's before bro's It is a wonderful adventure full of hope. Call the chamber of commerce and have them send you a package. You can get to know a lot about the area before you move. If you add the name of the town to your question, you may get more helpful answers. First set up your means of transportation, the route to work and food from your place of residence. I moved to Milwaukee after living in Dallas for 10 years, only been here a month. You are wise to ask before the fact instead of after :) I did that in my early 20's (a LONG, LONG time ago!) It was scary but also very adventurous. I moved to Cincinnati for a job. Didn't know a soul or have an apartment. I found a cheap rat hole of a place for a few weeks and then found a much nicer apartment. The worst part was that i injured an ankle a couple of weeks after moving up there and had to find the hospital and then go to work the next morning where I had to park a couple of city blocks from my office. I walked those city blocks on crutches. I don't regret one bit doing it! |
