FLIGHT AnD ALCOHOL? |
Travel Info I am 15 and am going on a student exchange in Australia. My mother want to send me with a bottle of wine or some alcohalic drink as a gift for the host family. Since I am underaged I was wondering if I can pack a bottle in my checked bag. I know that the Australian airport checks bags so I really need to know. THANKS Travel Tips Since you are underage you cannot bring wine in your suitcase (since they cannot determine where you got it from and who's going to drink it). Your mom will have to think of something else to give them or send the wine via mail to them. Have a great time! Others Take a different gift I don't think alcohol is a proper gift for a 15 year old to give, being from your mom or not! Not worth the risk! I also don't think it looks good! Your mom needs to think about this a little more , I would never even consider sending alcohol with any of my children ,, imagine what they would think of you as they pick you up from the airport , they can only find you in the airport security , not a good way to start a relationship! Duty free limits on alcohol are usually for those 18 and older. Also Australia severely limits any type of food items brought into the country. Pick something else. |
